I made this in my big A3 sketchbook while watching a Patreon live session on Zoom from @ema_malyauka. What I like most about this piece is the white space. I have a tendency to overwork things, so stopping at the right moment felt really good here. I love texture and details, but that can make a piece feel busy quite quickly. I’m learning that leaving parts untouched can create so much more air and softness. Sometimes a line is enough. There’s still a lot of texture in this dragonfly and frog piece, but I think the breathing room is what makes it work. Do you struggle with overworking your art too?
